Favorite Embellishments

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's time for a new challenge over at The Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.  This week we want to see your favorite Embellishments.

On behalf of the Design Team, I would like to thank Stitchybear for the fabulous images they provided the Design Team.  Thank you for letting me pick mine out.

StitchyBear

The digi image I used is Barrel.  I knew this would go perfectly with my Wine Taster Girlfriends.  So I printed out the Barrel on Copic X-Press It paper and then printed it again on regular printer paper.  I fussy cut the regular printer paper image and adhered it on the image on the Copic Paper.  Then I stamped my girlfriend images over that.  Removed the fussy cut Barrel and colored with my Copics. There are a couple things I would change about this.  First, I went to color the pants on the GF on the left and my N7 went "blob" with a huge drop of ink.  I rarely use it and yep, it's still juicy! lol.  I have a Spectrum Noir Blender pen, which in my opinion works better than Copic 0 and worked it back into the images.  Which resulted in a very dark corner of the barrel there.  2nd, I would have centered the Barrel more in the middle.   The gal on the left has the cutest boots that do not show because of the position.  3rd, my wine bottles kinda look like Ketchup and Grape juice, lol, I don't drink and buy a lot of wine. lol.

I cut the card base using my largest Mini Album Square Scallop, and I love this card shape.  I used the smile word from my Blueprints 11.  Oh and my favorite embellishments are the acrylic dots.  Okay, right now, they are my favorite but you know, I do love all my embellishments, lol.

Thanks so much for joining us this week, I cannot wait to see what your favorite embellishments are.

Pawsively Awesome

Hi Friends and Stampers,

I am late posting my Monday Inspiration for Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog today!  I had an idea what I wanted to do but I got into an emergency cleaning frenzy.  Partly because I never feel like cleaning and when I do, it's an emergency, lol.    Here is a card I whipped up today.

Sprinkles

I have to confess.  This stamp set really did steal my heart, I love it.  I cut out a window with my Blueprints 13 circle, then I cut out another window on Kraft colored cardstock and then placed the sawtooth circle on top of that and cut that out.  That left me with a ring of the sawtooth pattern that I glued on the top of the window.  Then I stamped my cute puppy on the inside of the card and colored with Copic Markers.  Then I stamped a few paw prints on the designer paper and added a flag from my Blueprints 12 die-cut.

I hope everyone is having a Happy Holly-Day Monday!  You do not want to miss out on the New Items in the store!!!

Thanks for Looking in on Me,

Holly

Got Coke?

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's time for a New Challenge over at The Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.  This week we want to see you make your own pattern paper or Technique Background.  Here is what I came up.

Mix and Match Gelatos Gift Set
MFT - Cool Day
MFT Die-Namics - Cool Day
Lawn Fawn 6X6 paper - Sweater Weather
Memento Black Ink
Copic Markers
Copic X-Press It Paper

OMGosh I love these bears!  They are so fun to dress up.  They totally reminded me of the Coca Cola Polar Bears.  So I set out to find a Coca Cola Sticker.  Well that proved to be a bit difficult, lol.   Lucky for me, I had to go to Las Vegas recently and was able to pop into the Coca Cola Store and Yes!  They had puff stickers.

Okay, now for that Bokeh Background.   I decided to break out my Gelatos.  I rubbed a little onto my craft sheet and added a drop of water to each color.

Then I used a paint brush to brush on water to the water color paper.  I took a smaller brush to add the Gelato and water mixture onto my paper in blobs.  The Gelatos take a bit to dissolve, so I helped it out, lol, with my smaller paintbrush.  But that was a cool effect because those areas are bit darker than the others.  I lost my water spritzer :(   So I used some sheer shimmer over that and moved the paper around a bit.  It gave it a nice frosty look.  Then I let it dry.   Once dried, (and it did not take long), I sponged on some white ink with a sponge dobber and then with a pencil eraser.  This is what it looked like when I was done.

It makes such a difference when you cut it and place your design over it.

Then I tried some other colors, because you know, I had the whole shebang out.

I was trying to excess water off with the paper towel I had and it left an imprint on the paper, but you know, I like it!

So since I had only used half of my water color paper, I had to break out the Distress Inks and give them a try as well.

I decided I like the bold colors of the Gelatos the best, but I plan on using them all, lol.

Okay where there is my technique background, but if prefer, you can use a background stamp or ??? to make your own paper.  I can't wait to see what you use!

Thanks for following along with the multiple pic's.  I hope you have a chance to check out the New Items in the store.

Thanks for checking in on me,

Holly

Thanks

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's my day to show you some Inspiration on the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog.  I actually made a card from a card that inspired me.

Here is Kimberly Crawford's card that inspired me.   And she made another one as well.   And so did I.

I didn't focus so much on triangle pattern with my ink on this one, which was my first one, but I did try Kimberly's tutorial on the first one shown and I really like the triangle within the triangle pattern, it just creates a better eye flow.    So like Kimberly, I heat embossed with white embossing powder and turned my distress inks upside down on my craft sheet and then picked up the ink with a paint brush from there.  I wiped off with a paper towel and then added a velum stitched traditional tag.  Added the die-cut Thanks and then added a few sequins.

These were a lot of fun to make!

I hope you will join us in our Current Blog Challenge and you will want to head on over to the store to check out the New Items that Laura has added!  I'm so excited about the Wink of Stella in the store!

Thanks for Looking in on me.

Firefly

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's my Day to show you some Inspiration over at Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog.  For today, I have decided to bug you, lol.

Echo Park 6X6 (scoot)

OMGosh I love this Mason Jar Set. I cut out the Jar once in the star paper and then again in window sheets.  I glued the fire flies on the star paper and then placed the window sheet cut out over it.  Then I added the lid that I cut out from a shiny silver paper.  I used the label cut out and stamped the label on.  Then just added the strip of paper and a lone fire fly and some sequins.

Look at all the possibilities here:

Jar full of hearts, gumballs, bugs, the sky is the limit.  Initially I wanted to make a shaker card, but I don't have clear thick strips for the window sheet.....which I have to find now! lol.

I hope that you have been inspired today and that you play along with us over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.  Oh and be sure to check out the New Items in the Store!

Thanks for checking in on me,

Holly

One of the Design Team posts is the hop's Sensational Sunday Sweet Spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to be in a monthly drawing for a $20 Loves Rubberstamps Gift Voucher! We will draw the winner of the Voucher the 1st Sunday of each month from all the comments left on the design team blogs. Remember, you have until 8:00 pm CST Saturday to leave your comments.

I have joined the Loves Rubberstamps Design Team today for the Inspirational Sunday Blog Hop.  For your inspiration today, I have brought out my Game Controller Dies and Level Up stamps that go with this die.

Oh this was so fun to use!  I do have to say that I saw this paper on another crafter on Facebook and I was thinking it was perfect to use with this die.  I was wishing I had some of it.  I even looked up on line to see where I could get some, but then that passed by.   Well, I was going through my "boy" like papers and I actually had this paper pad! lol.   Oh I am so bad, you have no idea, lol.

I had to borrow my hubby's controller because you know, it's never good unless it comes really close. I think I did pretty good.

What do you think?  I had to handle the controller very carefully, lol, these toys are expensive too.

I was so thrilled I had my spellbinders tool.

SPELLBINDERS TOOL 'N ONE from Spellbinders

The dies are very intricate and I love having this tool around.

New! DIE-NAMICS GAME CONTROLLER DIE SET from My Favorite Things MFT Stamps

I used the larger of the dies.  And I cut it out twice and popped one layer over the other using foam pads.  I also used pieces of foam pads for the joy sticks to give them some extra dimension.

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday!  I have to work today, but I had some days off in the week to make this :)  I hope you  have a chance to play in our Current Challenge and that you take a minute to check out the New Items in the store.

Now go check out what my fellow designers have made for you today.

Pac Man

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's time for a New Challenge over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.  This week we want you to show us your three shades of green.  Here is mine:

Okay, I have seen a couple Pac Man Cards made with the Monster Mash but I cannot find them to save me, lol.   I hope I did not make them the same, lol.   I rounded out the eyes, making them look in one direction, lol.  I played Pac Man by the hours when I was a teenager.  My husband said, "So cool, so retro."  And I'm like what?  No.  So 80's.  And he's like, "Yeah, retro."  OMG, I"m old enough to be retro!  When did that happen? lol.

So there are two shades of green in the designer paper alone and then the card base, lol.  I used the circle die from the Bluprints 12, and placed another circle over it and traced around it, then hand drew in the mouth.  I thought the paper was perfect for the maze.  If you do buy this set, I highly recommend the matchy dies.  They are a bit of a luxury, but it sure makes cutting them out so much easier.  I am a fussy cutter by nature but I do have to say, these coordinating dies are really spoiling me, lol.

I hope we see you in the challenge.  It's not really that hard to come up with three shades of green.  I was thinking of making a scenic card but then I saw this paper and it just came to me what it would be perfect for. lol.   Also check out the New Items in the store.

If you are waiting on an order, this could shed some light on things a bit.

WEST COAST PORTS LABOR DISPUTE IMPACTING PRODUCT AVAILABILITY

All west coast US ports have been embroiled in a longshoremen labor dispute for nine months. The work slowdowns and closures are impacting all sectors of the US economy, crafts included. The lack of supply of raw materials or finished goods is a significant issue for many of our brands at this time. As a result you may be seeing higher than usual out of stocks.

If you see Availability Dates on our website pushing out one day at a time, it is likely that the item is out of stock at the brand due to west coast port issues or the trucks are late due to numerous major winter storms on the east coast. We are working tirelessly to provide the most accurate date information possible; please be understanding if dates move or if brands are simply unable to estimate an in-stock date. We share your frustration with this situation, as do the entire manufacturing and retail segments of the US economy!

There was also an NBC news story on this situation a few weeks ago:

P.S. We got back from Las Vegas late this afternoon and then I was trying to play catch up for the weekend on line.  The wedding was fabulous.  For Fridays photo shoot, we ended up walking farther than I had anticipated, and then a little over a mile for the Rehersal Dinner, lol.   On Saturday we did more walking to the M&M store, the Coca Cola Store, Hershey Store, you know the drill..... by the time I was getting ready for the actual wedding, I had developed blisters on my feet from all the walking in new shoes, so all that shoe shopping I did, lol.   I ended up wearing the new slides twice, ack!  I have pictures on my Facebook Page, Holly Flores.

Words Cannot Espresso

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's time for me to show you some Monday Inspiration over at the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog.   Today, I want to Espresso how much you mean to me....

I love coffee and teacups.  And I do love my coffee in teacups sometimes, lol.   This was a really quick 30 minute card and if one were better organized, it could be knocked down to 15 lol.   Love these cute teacups and I plan on using this die over and over again.  the Perk Up sayings are perfect for any coffee card.

I had a very busy and quick weekend :(  Back to work for me.  I had to do a bunch of shopping.  My Oldest son is getting married in Vegas next weekend and we procrastinated our clothes shopping, lol. He is getting married at The Paris and it's an after 5 cocktail theme.  Oh this fat body has no little black dresses, lol.   So off to Lane Giant I went and low and behold, I did find two.  One for the rehearsal dinner and one for the wedding.....that was super duper clearance and so perfect for this event!  $29.95!  Score.  The other was $58.00 but I will wear it again and again.  It's multifunctional, lol.   Plus my very dear friend is also getting married next month and so I will no doubt wear that to her wedding.  And then we found clothes and outfitted the guys.  So now I am down to finding shoes to fit my 2X4 feet.   Why are all shoes so narrow?  So every day this week, I am out in search of very wide and appropriate black shoes that won't kill my feet with a low heel, wish me luck!

I also did make it to my very good friends wedding shower this weekend, so there was some fun involved.  Tonight we also watched Big Hero 6.   We bought the DVD because we just loved seeing it at the movies.

Okay, I am off to bed now.  Don't forget to check out the New Items Laura has added and this is your last day to play in our current challenge, there is a New challenge tomorrow! Oh and I have BLOG CANDY in the post below - go check it out!
