Hi Friends and Stampers,
It's time for a New Challenge over at The Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog. This week we want to see you make your own pattern paper or Technique Background. Here is what I came up.
Mix and Match Gelatos Gift Set
MFT - Cool Day
MFT Die-Namics - Cool Day
Lawn Fawn 6X6 paper - Sweater Weather
Memento Black Ink
Copic Markers
Copic X-Press It Paper
OMGosh I love these bears! They are so fun to dress up. They totally reminded me of the Coca Cola Polar Bears. So I set out to find a Coca Cola Sticker. Well that proved to be a bit difficult, lol. Lucky for me, I had to go to Las Vegas recently and was able to pop into the Coca Cola Store and Yes! They had puff stickers.
Okay, now for that Bokeh Background. I decided to break out my Gelatos. I rubbed a little onto my craft sheet and added a drop of water to each color.
Then I used a paint brush to brush on water to the water color paper. I took a smaller brush to add the Gelato and water mixture onto my paper in blobs. The Gelatos take a bit to dissolve, so I helped it out, lol, with my smaller paintbrush. But that was a cool effect because those areas are bit darker than the others. I lost my water spritzer :( So I used some sheer shimmer over that and moved the paper around a bit. It gave it a nice frosty look. Then I let it dry. Once dried, (and it did not take long), I sponged on some white ink with a sponge dobber and then with a pencil eraser. This is what it looked like when I was done.
It makes such a difference when you cut it and place your design over it.
Then I tried some other colors, because you know, I had the whole shebang out.
I was trying to excess water off with the paper towel I had and it left an imprint on the paper, but you know, I like it!
So since I had only used half of my water color paper, I had to break out the Distress Inks and give them a try as well.
I decided I like the bold colors of the Gelatos the best, but I plan on using them all, lol.
Okay where there is my technique background, but if prefer, you can use a background stamp or ??? to make your own paper. I can't wait to see what you use!
Thanks for following along with the multiple pic's. I hope you have a chance to check out the New Items in the store.
Thanks for checking in on me,
Holly
