Marriage Means Commitment...

Hi Friends and Family,

Welcome to another Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Week!  This week our theme is Old and New.  Here is what I came up with:

Lawn Fawn - Sweater Weather 6X6 - old season/new paper pad
Copic Markers - old and new
Best Glue Ever!- older end of my bottle, lol.

I just love these Bugaboo Images and on behalf of the Design Team, I would like to thank them for providing us with adorable images and letting us pick our own out!  Yes, we are so spoiled.  lol.   I started out with the blue card stock, I added a layer of sweater weather 6x6 paper and cut it down to the A1 card size.  I cut out the stitched circle with the sweater weather paper and the strip in the middle with the same paper.  I printed my image and colored with Copic Markers that complimented the paper colors.  I cut out a flagged strip and hand wrote the "Marriage Means Commitment..." I cut out the image after I colored it with the circle stax set two.  Then I rummaged through my dies and found the Gerbera Daisy, which is so perfect with this paper and I have never used it!  That's like a double win for me, lol.   I popped up the daisy with a dimensional.  I finished up the inside by printing the sentiment and adding a left over piece of sweater weather.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas or Holiday and I wish you all a very Happy New Year!  I have been coughing and coughing for weeks.  It's kennel cough and I hope my dogs don't catch it, lol.  No it's the lingering crud.  Just won't quite go away.  I was blessed to be off for quite a few days from work.  I did have Jury Duty last Tuesday.  I was suppose to call in for Monday and then I was rummaging through some stampy stack and found my jury summons, lol.   So I called right away and was told to come in for Tuesday.  We sat there all the long day.  And I was fortunate to have my Kendall Fire with me.  I started reading, "Gone Girl" and I was totally enthralled in this story.  I'm almost finished with it.  Love this story but I hate it too, lol,  it's a good book.  So I even though I was sitting in the jury duty room all day, I was not working and it was a day of rest.  At 3:00 pm the lady asked everyone from the patio to come in, a Bailif was on the way to pick a panel of 60 people.  We all moaned and groaned.  Why this late in the day?  Then she announced it was actually three of them to pick three panels of 60 and that means 180 out of 183 people there will be called.   And then she said, "Psych, just kidding."  lol.  Whewww.

Then we had a fabulous Christmas and the kids just loved every moment of that day.   It's usually like there is some let down after gift opening, but not with my two guys.   They just kept the party going all day.  We had the best time.  If you are on facebook, look me up or friend me.  I have pictures posted there.

Do you have a New Year's resolution?   Ours is 30 minutes/30 days.  Which means I have to exercise for 30 minutes, 30 days in a row.  I have all year to try to accomplish that one, lol.

I do hope you will have a chance to join us in our Challenge and I cannot wait to see what you make!

Thanks for looking in on me,

Holly

Full Design Team Sensational Sunday Blog Hop

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Hope you are in the midst of a great Holly-Day!   We are doing a full team Design Team Blog Hop today!   I made a set of cards using the Creative Vision line of stamps Laura is carrying in her store.
There are more of them, but these are the ones I used today:

The inside reads, "It's a Jungle Out There".   I stamped the image directly on the Polka Paper, stamped it again on the X-Press Paper to color, and then one last time on the Animal Print paper I had on hand.  After coloring her face, hair, hands and boots, I colored the outfit and tail with my Copic Marker C7, so any areas that were not quite covered wouldn't show up.  Then it was off to fussy cutting land.  Now there are little dots on the stamp itself, but they blended nicely with the paper.  I just about ruined my vision trying to see the outline though, lol.   But it was worth it, lots of fun.  Copic Colors: Hair: YR21, YR23, E31, Face: E000, E00, E21, E93, BG10 (around the top of eyes), Boots: E27, E25, E23.  Ears: same as boots around the edges and then pink inner ear: R85, R83, R81.  For the Jewelry I used a silver wink of stella.

For this one, I used the yellow Fawn Lawn Polka for the dress and in the areas that needed shaded, I high lighted with my Y19.  Again, I stamped the image onto the paper after I adhered the word bubble, stamped the image onto my Copic X-Press it paper and then stamped the image onto the Polka paper to cut out her dress.   Copic Colors: Face: E000, E00, E21, E93, BG10 (around the top of eyes). Hair: BV31, BV34, BV08, V28.  Shoes: C5, C3, C1, Flower: R85, R82, R81 - I used the paper for the center and colored Y19 in the shaded areas on the dress.

OMGosh I love this one!  So funny.  I did try that little Copic Marker trick where you color up the image and then use a piece of terry cloth and squeeze on some Colorless Blender to the terry cloth and then pat on the clothes of the image. I have been trying this trick a few times with no success.  This time I learned to wait until the "small area" where I applied the Colorless Blender to seep into the dry areas and become, "less wet" if that makes any sense.   Then I applied it onto the clothing a few times and when over a couple areas a few more times til I saw a "texture" appear.  Okay that was fun.   Copic Colors: Face: E000, E00, E21, E93, BG10 (around the top of eyes).  Ball: R85, R83, R81.  Outfit: B24, B21, B000.  Shoes: R29, R24, W1, W0. Y19 to shade the paper next to the images. Hair: E37, E35, E34, E31.

This one might be my Favorite.  I stamped her onto the Polka paper and then onto X-Press It paper, like before.  Again, I used the terry cloth and colorless blender trick, but this time I had too much or too saturated onto the cloth, so it really moved the colors around, but hey, who doesn't have a very worn terry cloth robe? lol.  The inside reads..."Prevent Sagging, eat till the wrinkles fill out".  Copic Colors: Face: E000, E00, E21, E93, BG10 (around the top of eyes). Hair: E02, E08, E18, E19. Robe: B2, B1, B00. Counter: N0, N2, N3, N1.  Back of Mirror: R85, R83, R81.  I used the Silver Wink of Stella for the outline of the mirror.

Thank you for hopping along, here is the blog hop order:

Thanks for Hopping Along!

Last minute Tags

Happy Holly-Days!!!

Well here I am, getting my last minute tags done for Christmas.  I actually ordered this nutcracker stamp especially for Jeepy.  He is really into them this year, so I plan on using it for this tag as well as some scrap pages for this year :)  Thank you to Michele Reynolds for the fabulous tag idea and for permission to use it.

Okay, I'm off to enjoy the Holly-Days with the family.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holly-Days!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holly-Days!!!

I was so thrilled with myself, I made half as many cards as I needed to, lol.

Spellbinders Labels Nine

I hadn't realized these Stampin Up Dress Up Framelits were retired!  Wow.  First time I've used them, lol.  I've been collecting Stampin Up at our Stampin Up club each month and I'm thrilled with what I get and then on the shelf it goes.  So with our Holiday Blitz Challenge going on, I had some time to unshelf these and use them.  I had seen a similar card on Facebook and it gave me some other ideas of what I wanted to do to dress this card up.  I started with Cherry Cobbler card stock base.  I added a Very Vanilla for the next layer, stamped the greeting  with Cherry Cobbler Ink and then ran all but the words part through my big shot with an embossing folder.

Next I cut out the Labels 9 twice and stacked those together.  I cut out the Dress Up Framelit in Cherry Cobbler and then cut out the bottom in Very Vanilla, then moved that cut out further down on the die and recut it.  I also used a scallop punch for the top and then recut that with the dress die.  I saw on a U-Tube video of Jennifer McGuire that she uses these microbrushes to apply adhesive.

Eyelash Extension Lint Free Microbrush
BEST GLUE EVER from ScraPerfect
These are the perfect tools to use with my Best Glue Ever!   Not that I didn't get sticky, oh I did, but it really made the process so much easier to apply the glue and then I just had to add the shimmer flakes.  I got the shimmer flakes at the Scrap Book Expo I went to this fall.  And I used the teeny tiny postage stamp punch from Stampin Up for the belt buckle. I popped the dresses up on dementials for a better look.  Okay, don't hate me, I love this one, lol.

MFT CS Christmas

I used Santa on a recent Design Team card and didn't get enough of him.  The little wobble butt is just too much fun!  I started out with a white card base.  I used Red Ridding Hood (SU) Red cardstock and embossed that in an S.U. Folder.  Cut out my Insert a Frames and placed a black base on the back.  I stamped up Merry Christmas very carefully because it's all in on line on the stamp and so I had to cover half of it with painters tape and ink it up, take off the painters tape and stamp the word, each time.  I cut out a small strip, I think 3/4" of black and placed another postage stamp glitter paper buckle on the center.  I also used my wink of stella silver on the Bell's so they shimmer and added shimmer flakes on Santa's Hat and Coat and Pant bottoms.  I just love these shaker sets and I need to get more wobbles!

Holiday Blitz - Anything Goes!

Hello Friends and Stampers,

I'm so excited about this two week Challenge Event, I always look forward to the Loves Rubberstamps Holiday Blitz Challenge.   There is a plethora of prizes to win!

We have multiple sponsors and will have multiple winners - Paper Shelter, Kenny K (2 prizes), Meljen's Designs, Aurora Wings, Milk-N-Coffee Stamps, Crafty Sentiments Designs, QKR Stampede, Eureka Stamps, A Random Fan, The East Wind, Ppinkydolls, Ching-Chou Kuik.

Isn't that exciting!   And it's Anything Goes, so make what you want and link up often for a chance to win some incredible prizes!  Here is what I made for this Challenge.

MFT - Jingle All the Way - To be added soon

I put it all away and then remembered I needed to take individual pictures, but if you click on the picture, it will make it bigger.   I saw a plain red version of this on facebook and decided I needed to add some panels and my cute little Santa's and images from the Jingle all the Way set.  So I used two 12X12 red card stock papers, cut a 2"X12 black strip for each side, cut a 2"X3" black piece for the belt tab thingy and rounded that with a circle punch.  I cut out four Squiggle Borders and lined two of them up underneath the belt.  I placed the sentiments flags and images on with pop dots for now until I can get this years pictures placed on the mats, then I will adhere them on with the best glue ever, which is also holding down those buttons and trust me, they are not going anywhere.

I hope you have a chance to see all the fabulous New Items that Laura has added to her store!   We are also planning a full design team hop on the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog on December 28th, and I hope you will all hop along with us then.  I've already made those cards and I can't wait to show them to you.

Okay, start making your projects!!!  I hope you will friend me and follow me on Facebook and Pinterest!  I just joined Pinterest and if you are looking for me, you will find me there, OMG!

More Tags

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's time for another Holly-Day Monday Inspiration Blog Post.  I have been busy making more tags!  I can't seem to get enough of them.  Here is another set of six:

It started with these two.   I just love the little bunnies in this set and through they would look cute holding the ribbons.

Then I thought about how cute it would be to have this bird sit on a birdhouse on the tag.  In real life, the color of the house matches the color in the paper dots, lol.

And finally,  I have this thing for whimsical squirrels and chipmunks.  I just love them.  I stamped each image, colored with my copics and then adhered them down.  I love these two sets, among others.... lol.

Okay, no matter what you do, do not miss tomorrow post over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog!  You do  not want to miss it.

That's all I'm saying, lol.   Oh and go check out the New Items in the store!
