LRSBC7 and CTD199

This weeks Challenge over at Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog is a sketch.  And it is a very tricky sketch.  I had to think about this one for a while.

So I thought and I thought and then I remembered my Sizzix embossing folder that does something very similar to the rays in this sketch.  And today I was going through my stamps and came across a set I recently purchased at Loves Rubber Stamps.  In fact, the owner special ordered this set for me.  Talk about customer service!  Wow.  I was blown away.  Before I got started, I checked out The Color Throwdown Blog to see if I could use their color combination.  Something I love to try to do.  So this is also for the Color Throwdown Challenge #199

And so, combining the two challenges, I came up with this:

The embossing did not show up in my light box, so I had to take the picture on my desk, under a lamp, lol.   I love this Flourishes set called Sweet Days of Summer.  I have wanted it for a long while now, but as soon as I saw Flourishes offered in Laura's store, I was quick to ask for it.  Laura has a sweet deal, if you order a certain amount, you get free shipping.  I love that!

Anyhow, I stamped the sprinkler kids on white and cut out with my Spellbinders circle.  I then airbrushed the imaged circle with Copics: YR12, E42, E43, B37, B000.  All of the colors in the colors throwdown are in there between the Kraft, Navy, and Red card stock and the designer paper and then the lighter blue is in the sky.

Do you remember being a kid and playing outside until the sun was setting?  I was thinking about that while I was making this card.  The game always seemed to get at the fun peak point when it was time to come in.  I often wonder why that is?  But I watch my son and his friends play and it's the same thing, the game is getting just to the point where everyone is playing hard and having fun, and it's time to go. lol.   So this is my way of stopping time just at the best time, that way they can keep playing and having fun and never have to go in the house.

Thanks for Looking and your kind Comments.

Holly

Holly, your summer scene is wonderful! I remember those lazy hazy days of summer and all that's needed is to add some lightning bugs to the scene - lol! I recall loving to catch them near dark. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Color Throwdown!
