One Little, Two Little Indians......

Okay, so there is just one little Indian, but isn't she adorable?  This is Indian Emma.  A brand new release from All That Scraps.  I love the three little feathers in her head band, the cute little dress and the braids.  I know most of the time when there is an American Indian stamp it is centered around Thanksgiving and fall.  And I know there is a little stereo typical corn used on my card, but that's okay, I am American Indian, so I can use maize, lol.

And this is for the Reminder Challenge Post - Anything Goes!  I love that challenge.  I am free to design til my hearts content, lol.  So come along and join in the fun.  Simply pick out any stamp or digi image from All That Scraps and link up your project on the Wednesday Challenge Blog and you could win!!!  But playing is half the fun, so you are already a winner.

I had so much fun coloring her up.  The minute I saw her, I remembered the Copic 2 class booklet had some colors already picked out for American Indian skin tones.  So I brought it out and pulled the colors E18, E15, E13 and E4 (cheeks).  And I colored her face, arms and legs first.  But OMGosh that was soooo dark and not my usual skin tones at all.  But still, I am trying to broaden my horizons and pick out new skin colors.....er.....scraplift new skin colors, lol.  Thank you Mary Anne Walker...
And then I picked out the dress colors.  I was looking for something to match my paper and still look authenticish.  So I pulled E09, E08, E07 and I really liked those for the dress and boots.  I wanted to tone it down a bit so I used E43, E42, and E41 for the rest of the dress.  I Used C1, C3, C5, and C7 for her hair.  I used the dress E's for the band and colored the feathers YR18, YR16, YR15, G43, G40, G21, E39, E37, E35.  Finally I airbrushed the ground with E33 and E31 and the sky with B21.

I used Karen's sketch, sweet sunday sketch challenge 166, for my design and I did tweak it a little by flipping it and bring up the banner and bringing down the circle to fit my little Indian Emma.

Thanks so much for popping over today and leaving your kind comments.

Great job with the darker skin tones. They seem so dark at first, but it becomes easier with time! Love the layout of this card with the combo of rectangles and circles.
