Sunny Wishes

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Well, I did not mean to spend the whole day stamping, lol, but I did. Last day of Stay-Cation and I made the most of it. I didn't even make what I originally intended, but you know, I go with the flow and before I know it, I  have three cards.

Kraftin Kimmie Stamps - Oceans of Love!
MFT Die-Namics Blueprints 16
MFT - Lush Lagoon Ink
Memento Tuxedo Black; Tangelo; Cantaloupe
Copic Markers N-1 through N-6
Gelly Roll White
Mini Splats Stencil by The Crafters Workshop

When I saw these Oceans of Love stamps, I was head over heels in love with the images. Apparently I was not the only one, they sold out quickly!  But I was able to get them on the second go-around. I'm really glad I did. Am I the only one still using brads? Since the enamel dots came out and sequins became all the rage, I have hardly seen brads being used. Well, I used some of mine anyway, they just went perfect for the port hole. This little guy makes me miss the beach even more.

I hope you are all having a fabulous Monday!

Thanks for checking in and leaving me a comment.

Best of Luck

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Well, here it is, late at night and I am trying to get all my things done and get organized for class next week. I kept wanting to take a pic of this card during the day, but alas, it is so hard to find time, lol.

Carta Bella Old World Travel 6X6
Copic Markers

I actually made this on the tail end of my last break, but have not had a moment to grab a picture and get it blogged until now. I love this adorable image. The suit cases were a lot of fun to color up as well. I love these cut outline stickers and the making things with them. They shine and shimmer up really nice in real life. I know Krazy Kreations has a few kits as well, which is always fun to make because the kits have it all and you can just be mindless and have fun.

I have another week off of school but I have to go back to work next week. I hope to get inky every night between now and then. I tried to make a card and it bombed, so I will try again. A different design. Maybe someone else's, lol.

I have gone through over 5,000 emails. I'm down to just over 15,000 lol, but that is so me. And when I say I've gone through them, I truly have. No finger on the delete button pushing it over and over again. I have to look at and inspect each one. I do not want to miss a thing. I have discovered things I missed! Not just fabulous creations of other stampers and card makers, but dies and stamps, and papers oh my! lol.  I seriously missed seeing a few products that I am going to have to have, lol. I will have to add them to the wishlist. Which is growing longer and longer while I am busy doing school work. I do have a few pile ups here, things that couldn't wait, lol.

I am half way done through my BSN program!!! Six down and six to go!!! I almost gave it up with this class. After statistics, I was just burnt out and felt like I needed a longer break, but my counselor steered me in the right direction and I finished the class. I was also able to take a week off of work just after class and this has done me a world of good. The family packed up and went to see Grampa and Cyndy in Paso Robles, we headed to the beach for an afternoon, and we have gotten back to the gym. All things I wanted to do.

I hope to be able to do more blog hopping and see what everyone's been up to. I have made it to a few but not everyone yet.

Thank you for stopping in and checking on me,

Holly

The Easter Bunny is Coming to Town.....

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Happy Holly-Day Monday. I know, I know, me too. But I hope I can provide you with some inspiration for when you do get a little time to get inky. It's my turn to post over at The Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog. I actually made a card that inspired another Scrap page layout! I have now double the number of scrap pages I've done in a year! Whoot. Okay, don't be too impressed, it's only a few, but I do have the Scrapping Fever now, so you can expect at least one more, lol.

Here is my card for you today:

My Copic Colors are: G24, G21, G20 - for the greens, C1, C0 - shading on the bunny, R81, R83, R85 - Pink dress and hat, E25, E23, E21 for the little bunnies, RV00, RV10 for the cheeks and in the ears. So I sat back and loved this one. It's simple but it's so Easterish. And I thought about what I would do with this One Big Hoppy Family set on a scrap page layout. So I did it.

I used the basket, the marshmallow looking bunnies and the eggs from the Woven Basket Die-Namics. I have a system I use when I am cutting out multiples of the same and so it's all assembly line work, lol. Here is a close up of the stamps I used on the layout:

I added some glitter to the Letters, Numbers, Bow and Eggs, but it's not really showing up on these pictures. The additional Copic colors I used are: E35, E34, E31 for the smaller bunnies, Y35, Y13 for the eggs, B91, B93. I do have an airbrush but sometimes I just like to sponge on some Memento Cantaloupe and Tangelo for a warm sunny feel. I also dearly love punch art and I have seen this bunny on several cards at Splitcoast Stampers. I am not too sure who to give the credit to, but I did shamelessly KopyKat it and added the ears and the pom pom tail to it.

This may be the first time I scrapped a layout for an event that hasn't taken place, lol. I'm so years behind that sometimes it's just good to look ahead and now I know I have to have six really good pictures! lol.

Thanks for Looking and I hope I have inspired you today.

Case Somebody

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Today is a New Challenge Day over at Loves Rubberstamps!!!
Our New Challenge is to Case Yourself or a DT Member.  I chose this card to Case:

And this is what I came up with:

I know, it's more of an inspiration to my card, than an actual case, but I still consider it casing because when I saw her card, I knew I had to make some version of it. lol.  Laura will be adding, "Girlfriends" to the Art Impression line she is carrying in the store soon.  And I cannot wait!  I have a few more of the ones she is carrying in the store coming:
New! GORDON GOLFER Rubber Stamp Set AI People Collection from Art ImpressionsASLEEP ON THE JOB Rubber Stamp Set AI People Collection from Art ImpressionsPOWER NAPPER Rubber Stamp Set AI People Collection from Art Impressions
These are from the "People" line and they either just got in the store or are coming very soon.  I just love them!  In addition to yesterdays discussion about preorders and the timing with shipping, I also wanted to add that the weather in that part of the Country has been so extremely cold!!!  With extreme temperatures, comes electricity and Internet service outages, colds and flu's.  Plus the sheer energy and time it takes to shovel your way out of your driveway.  I am a native Californian and I cannot imagine having to do this one a daily basis for a whole season, lol.  So please be patient with Laura, she is doing the best she can and she is truly a wonderful person.  I would not stand behind her and her store if I didn't already know what a reliable and wonderful person she is.  I can however, relate to being very anxious and jumping up and down about stamps I am going to get!!! lol.   I love shopping and finding these just as much as I love using them....if not more.  And it's not like I don't have a plethora of others to use, but I just love getting knew ones.  So I can totally relate.

So anyway, you can case anyone of the Design Team or yourself.  If you going to case anyone else, you will need to get their permission before hand.  This tends to go either way.  They are either very flattered or they definitely don't want anyone using anything or any likeness of their design.  So that part is really important.  I know everyone on the design team is going to be very flattered if you pick one of their cards.

I remember when I was a little girl, the theatre seats were a dark red and velvet in texture.  The ceiling had twinkling stars like the night sky, the popcorn was the best ever, and all the seats were in an even row, so you had to be careful how far back you sat because you didn't want to get a really tall person in front of you, or someone with a hat!  A lot has changed these days!  We have three theatres in town that have stadium seating and so having to look around someones head is never an issue.  I love that!  I miss the stars on the ceiling though.

Any day now, Laura is going to be adding some NEW ITEMS in the store.  She already has some boxes she NEEDS to unpack and place in the store... but her Internet has been down :(  So keep checking back!!!

We did laser tag for our son's birthday part on Saturday in our backyard.  Joe made the barriers in red and blue minecraft out of cardboard boxes and we were able to rent the laser tag guns and vests with a commando for two hours, lol.  I got a little bit carried away, lol.   Thankfully it was sunny and a little nippy, so we didn't get too hot.  We ran around and had a blast.  Now if all fitness was this fun, I could get some of this weight off, lol.  Now I must say that Joe and I do not advocate for guns but we do believe in free choice and we do believe all little boys need to get this out of their systems. lol.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments.

Extreme Sports - Show us your Metal

Hello Friends and Stampers,

It's time for a New Challenge over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.  This time we are asking you to show us your Metal!  I used some fun Screw Brads I had in my stash.  Metal can be brads, trinkets, etc. This week we have a very exciting sponsor!  Kenny K!!!  So you want to be sure to join us because the prize is double!

I wanted to make the image on the skateboard like mindcraft, lol.   Have you seen the "Creeper" image?  Well, he is green anyway, lol.  This little guy reminds me of my youngest son.  Although he doesn't skate board, he does have those big ol' feet and huge tennis shoes. lol.  He also loves his black jeans and wears them every chance he gets with his new Assassins Creed hoodie, lol.  I love this age, too much fun.

I airbrushed the background again, lol.  I do love my airbrush and sometimes I neglect using it, so then I feel like I need to use it on the next couple cards I make, lol.  If you remember, I told you that I stamp the image onto the paper, then I stamp it on to scratch paper and fussy cut out the scratch paper, then I use removable adhesive on the scratch paper and cover up the original image.   Then I airbrush the background and then take off the scratch paper image and color up the image.  It's a lot easier to do than it sounds, lol.

Have you checked out the New Items in the store?  I'm so excited!!! It's almost payday!!! Yippee!!!  I hope you  have a chance to join us in this New Challenge.

The Best Day Ever

Good Morning Friends and Stampers,

Happy Tuesday to you!  It's time to start a New Challenge over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.  It's our favorite one!  Anything Goes!!!!  Whooo Hoooo.   I love all these Cheeky images from The Greeting Farms, Laura has a great selection in the Loves Rubberstamps Store.

Today I felt like making a one layer card.  I love these Magnolia Background images.  Each collection has some scenery or background in it.  I like to mix and match them with my favorite images.  Here Cheeky Geeky is sitting enjoying the SPRING weather.  I told you I was over winter, lol.  I airbrushed the background with my Copic Markers and colored her up with Copic Markers.  Adding two stamps together is easy to do.  I just inked her up and stamped her on the paper.  Stamped her again on scratch paper and quickly fussy cut her out.  I used removable adhesive runner for the scratch paper cut out and placed it over the image.  Then I inked up the background and stamped it over the covered image.  Then I airbrushed the sky and grass and ground.  Then I removed the scratch paper cover and colored her up.  The last thing I did was ink up the sentiment and viola, I have a one layer card perfect for sending in the mail with no extra postage.  I am normally a very layered card maker, but once in a while I just like to make these.

Well it is Tuesday and back to the grindstone here.  How is your week going?  I was excited to see some New Items in the Loves Rubberstamps Store!!!  They are just the incentive I need to get back to work and get in some over time, lol.

Thanks for checking in on me,

Take the Plunge

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Welcome to the New Holly-Day Monday over at the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog. I know, we switched some things up, but change is good right? Speaking of change. I am so over winter and I know it's just started, but as long as I can control the season on my card, it's going to be late Spring - Early Summer, lol.

I had not had a chance to ink up MFT DG - Take the Plunge image before seasons changed and I was off and running on those Halloween Cards, lol. I inked her up with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copics. I used my MFT Sun Die-namics and some Summer Days 6X6 Echo Park paper. Oh, and I also used X-Press It Copic Paper and The Best Glue Ever.

I'm still working on my Water Color Copic Technique. I added blender solution to the aqua-pen I have and picked up some BG11 from acetate with my brush tip and then applied it to the bottom of my image. I like this subtle amount of color. And it's a "new to me" technique to try out, lol. I love trying out new color techniques and tend to stick with them until I'm satisfied with the way they look.

I hope everyone survived the Holly-Days and the routine is back to normal. I also hope you will join us for our New Challenge Tomorrow! There is still a few hours left to get into our current challenge which is to show us your New Year Resolutions. You also want to check out the fabulous New Items in the store!!!

Thanks for Looking in on me,

Holly

A Day of Thanks

Hello Friends and Stampers,

I hope everyone who celebrated had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Did you go out shopping for the Black Friday Deals? Yikes! I'm staying in! I have plenty of scrappy things to do and I am not buying anything this year that is worth the small savings for all the crowds and traffic. But I do like to hear about everyone Else's experiences, lol.

It's a Happy Holly-Day over at the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog! I hope you have today off as well.

Okay well it's close enough to Thanksgiving that I thought I would give it one more card, lol. This goes along with our current challenge for Thanksgiving, Thank You, Thankful. I also thought I would try a CAS design, but now I feel like there are layers missing, lol.
Have you seen all the NEW ITEMS that were added to the store? I know the Some Odd Girl fans are going to be very happy!
Have a great day and don't forget to check in tomorrow for Indah's Video Tutorial Post.

So Thankful For You

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Welcome to a new Challenge over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.  It is only fitting that our theme is a Thanksgiving Themed Card or a Thank You Card.  I would like to thank our sponsor this week, Saturated Canary, so providing the design team with such fabulous images.    Here is mine:

Saturated Canary - Cornelia

Now you will want to check out the Saturated Canary Stamps available at the Loves Rubberstamps on line Store.  Did you know that shipping is never more than $5.99 here in the states?  That's an amazing bonus!  If I start to order on line and discover that shipping is any more than $5.99, I usually cancel out the order.  I hate spending money on shipping, lol.  It's just one of those things I really dislike.  And if you spend more than $75.00 the shipping is free in the states!  I love Free Shipping best of all.

So I obviously went with a Thanksgiving themed card.  I am half Native American Indian so I really love this image.  She reminds me of my Sister.  Who was lucky to have big blue eyes and dark hair.  I am especially impressed with her basket.  I have seen a lot of Native American baskets in the Pow Wow's and museums, so I really like that she thought about how ornate and decorative they made them.  The Indians used berries and other plants and fruits for pigment to color.  If they are watching us now, I know they are loving the Copic Markers!  lol.

This Thanksgiving is going to be quiet with just my immediate family and some much needed rest, football and family time.  I think this is a first for us, but this year I am thankful that it is just us.  What are your plans for Thanksgiving?  Whatever your plans, I hope it is a low stress day and that you have some to relax and just be with family.  I have been loving the "Today I am Thankful For...." posts of Facebook this month.  So much to be thankful for.  And I love seeing and reading what everyone else is thankful for.

I just had an opportunity to go through my blog looking for certain posts.  Wow, I have made some cards and projects! lol.   I was really pleased to see that I  have settled into a certain card design.  It may not be the best, but it's mine.  My husband tells me he can pick out and spot my cards in a line up of a lot of cards.  He tells me I have a specific design style.  I love that!  I am Thankful for all the designers and bloggers out there that have helped me shape my design and how I view things.  I am also very grateful for the sketch makers because without a great sketch, I am at a real loss. And for my followers and my friends who comment, thank you so very much!  You are the reason I feel compelled to carry on when my mojo is low and your comments mean the world to me.  Thank You.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments.

Cracked up

Happy Wednesday Peeps,

It's time for another All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge!!!  Yeah.  It's anything goes!  So get out your favorite CC Designs and come play along with us.  Today I am using Cracked Lula and I have used a great Sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I dug out a 6X6 Echo Park Pad called Country Drive.  I had not even broken the seal on it, but I loved the papers and so I was happy to have rediscovered it! lol.  I will be using some more of these cute papers are the Spring time comes.  I also used a Trellis and Vine Die-namic.

When I finish up this card one morning last weekend, I was liking and sharing on Facebook.  I usually multitask when card making on the computer, either facebook or blog hopping or commenting, lol.  All of the sudden, Facebook told me I was blocked from "sharing" for two days.  Can you believe it?  I posted a comment about it and non of my friends had ever heard of such a thing!  I kept trying and after a couple hours, I was liking and sharing all over again, lol.   So if you get blocked, keep trying, lol.  If you are one of my regular viewers and you want to "friend" me, I am under Holly Flores in Bakersfield.  I have to warn you, I am liberal, I have crazy friends and family, and I "share" a lot, lol.

Don't you just love Cracked Lula?  She is so adorable and I can think of many different Spring Cards I would like to make with her.  She is a lot of fun to color.

I cannot wait to see your fabulous creations in the Challenge.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments.

Sparkle Color Challenge

Hi Stampers and Friends,

It's time for another Challenge over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps!!!

This time it's a color Challenge!  So ink up your favorite Sparkle Creation Rubber Stamp and play with us:

I chose Cowgirl Chloe and used the color combo to color her up with my Copic Markers.  I used some MME paper and added some flowers I had from my stash.  The barbed wire fence is a new die-namic from MFT's.  I had some shiny mirror paper I bought at JoAnne's for the wire.

Now about those flowers.  I stash them behind my monitor and the day I went to reach for them my sleeve got caught up on the tower I make shifted for my Copic Markers and all my Markers came tumbling down!  I hadn't even had my morning coffee yet ACKKKK.   My dear sweet husband went into his work shop and made this for me.

Isn't that great?!  Ignore the mess, lol.  I need the chaos to stay creative (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, lol.)   So they are sturdy as can be and so much easier to get to now.  The only draw back is I cannot expand, unless I get twice as many, lol.....hey now there's an idea, lol.

This month Sparkle is not having a new release :(  I know, I know, bummer!  BUT she is giving a discount all month long because there is no new release!  Yeah!!!!

So head on over to the store and get some shopping done!  And then be sure to play in our Challenge!

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments.
