Hello Marilyn!

Hello and Happy Tuesday,

Is it Friday yet? lol.  I do love my days off.  Being able to pay for stuff is good too, lol, but I do love my days off.

Today is a new Loves Rubberstamps Challenge.  Go to the Kirkland Website  and click into the store.  Anything you see on the first page or in the store can be your inspiration for this challenge!  The colors, the designs, the shapes, a picture, anything.  So it's almost like an anything goes with a twist, lol.   I would love to see what inspired you from this website though, so if you can and you have time, please let us know what inspired you.  As soon as I clicked over, these things inspired me:

I was not sure which one I would pick until I got ready to do this card, lol.   I love when I get more than one inspiration because it sets my mojo into action, lol.

So obviously I picked Marilyn and I did have a cute Kraftin' Kimmie Marilyn stamp that I wanted to use.  I had seen this stamp used recently by Kim O'Connell and in fact I recently referred to this card on my blog because of the new shadow technique she show cased.  So I wanted to do the red dress Marilyn too.  When I saw the sketch for this week over at the SCS forum for MFT's, I knew the film strip die-namics would be perfect to use with her.  I also used the photo corner die-namics and some Echo Park paper I had in my stash.

.... Speaking of Echo Park paper, have you seen the new paper Laura added to the store???  I am so excited!  And yes, I caved and bought some new paper and I'm just waiting for my order to come in!!!  In fact, she also added some La La Land Dies and I know you will want to go see those, they are so fabulous, can't wait to get my order!!! lol.  And she added a ton of new Magnolia stamps.  So go check out the NEW ITEMS list added to the store, I know you are going to find quite a few things!!!   Isn't it amazing that you can order Kraftin Kimmie, Echo Park, La La Land, MFT's, Magnolia, Glue, Ink and a whole lot more in one order?  If you bought these individually from different sources, you would be spending quite a bit in shipping charges.  If you go to one store and buy them all together and spend over $75.00, you get free shipping.  I know, I know, $75.00 sounds like a lot, but if you spend $25.00 in three different places and then have to pay shipping charges, you are actually saving over $15.00!!!  You have to think about it in those terms, lol.   How's that for justification? lol.

I also inked her up in Memento black ink, colored her with copics, (coming to the store soon), and used the best glue ever.

I am submitting this to the Kraftin Kimmie Challenge to use three embellishments.  I used three rhinestones on the top and three rhinestones on the bottom.

Copic List:
Skin: E21, E00, E000, E0000, E93
Dress: R29, R27, R24
Hair: E23, YR24, YR21
Eyes: copic multiliner pen for the pupil, BG45, BG23
Shadow BG10.

Lastly, I would like to thank our sponsor this month, Sweet N' Sassy.  It's to great when we can add to the prize for the winner!!!

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments!!!

Holly

Holly, she is a great image, but you made her beautiful...and sexy...with your coloring. Love your papers and the film strips too. This is so timely for me...I just finished watching the entire 1st season of SMASH, the tv show about making a musical about Marilyn Monroe...can't wait for season 2!
